It is very easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the moment. When you are busy, you may forget what matters most in your life. The things you enjoy most and the decisions you make most often get lost in the shuffle of daily tasks. It is important to remember that you are not “just a consumer,” nor are you an employee, a partner, or a parent of a child.
That is why it is so important to be aware of your brand’s reputation. Every brand is different. Some of the most important things a brand rep should do are to become aware of the negative press coverage of its brand and the negative brand rep is doing. It is not what you do, but who you are that determines the success of your brand.
Like many, I work in sales and marketing. I’ve been in the industry for about ten years and have worked with hundreds of brands in this capacity. And, while I may be guilty of using the word “brand” to mean all of the brands that market to me, I do not believe that any of these brands is in any way a “brand.” All of the brands I have worked with have been different, and some of them have been more than a little controversial.
I think the most important factor that determines the success of a brand is how it portrays itself to the consumer. A brand is an image that is portrayed to the consumer. If a brand does not portray itself well, it does not last. And in the case of a brand like Nike, that image is a little bit tarnished right now. Nike’s image has been tarnished in the last few years by a scandal involving the sexual assault and rape of some of its athletes.
The brand image can be tarnished by the fact that the business itself is tarnished. The image of Nike is of a company that is about to go out of business because of scandals such as the one involving the sexual assaults. A company that is tarnished by scandals does not have as appealing of an image as it has to be to the consumer.
It’s a bit difficult to get these women to accept the word ‘no’ as an answer because they’ve always been pretty good at being satisfied with their own image.
With the image of Nike still tarnished, I think it might be best to simply call them the ones who wear Nike, or the ones who use Nike, or the ones who think Nike is a good idea. In this case, “Nike” would be a much more appropriate term than “brand”.
