The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget were on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.
The problem is when you are not even aware of the habits, routines, impulses, and reactions that you are doing, then you are no longer in control of your behaviors. The habit of never doing anything, which is why we have to worry about what to do, is one of the most common causes of mental illness.
Yes, the habit of always doing the same thing over and over again can be one of the most common causes of mental illness. In fact, there are many such habits, and they can be a sign of the disease. But, when you are unaware of these tendencies, they don’t count and you may be acting out of habit.
You often hear people say, “I have no choice about my behavior.” But the thing about that is you are not in control of your behaviors. You are in control of your thoughts, but you are not in control of your actions. And, you are in control of your thought patterns, but you are not in control of your behavior.
The thing about mental illness is that its often a symptom of something else. Sometimes, you can even get the disease if you’re unaware of it. But if you are aware of it, and you do something about it, you can stop it. It’s not a choice, it’s a choice.
You can’t just say, “I don’t want that,” and then say, “okay, now I do.” You have to make the choice yourself. Or, you can make a choice not to do something, and then you have to continue to do something else until you get back in control of your own mind.
I don’t know if that’s true, but its true. I’m not sure about this. The truth is that there can be no other choice than to keep our minds on track, and therefore focus on what we have to do to the body. Maybe a new mind-set would make us less dependent on the body, and we’d all be safe. But you can’t know that, and that it doesn’t happen.

I think most people would agree with this statement. As a matter of fact, I think most people would also agree that the way we think and act in our daily lives is often a reflection of our environment, our culture, our society, and our own personal history. And since we are often so dependent on the body for basic needs, it is almost inevitable that we would be more prone to our habits, routines, impulses and reactions than our minds.
