The difference between a total utility and a marginal utility is that they are both the amount of energy or work performed with the available resources, but only the former is an objective reality. The former is subjective, and only a person can accurately measure it.

Like other psychologists, I have discovered that the only thing that is truly objective regarding utility is the amount we pay for it. For example, a household may pay more for heat than it costs to heat the house. If it were actually cheaper, we would have used less energy.

Like any other study, we need to be careful about claiming to have a quantifiable objective measure of utility. But as a simple comparison of a household to a house, a small increase in utility, even if it were true, would be meaningless. Utility is a subjective term that depends on a person’s point of view of their life’s purpose. The amount of energy we spend on goods and services, while measurable, is not in itself objective.

It is true that a household can be as inefficient as a house. A home can be as efficient as a house in many ways, but it tends to have a higher utility than a household. We don’t really care how much energy we use or whether it is a good use of resources, because our objective is to minimize the utility of our use.

It’s true that people think of life as a series of time periods and not as a series of small events involving small changes in energy. We could say that a good house can be as efficient as a house, but we don’t care how much it costs us. A good house can be as efficient as a house in many ways, but we dont care what it does with energy.

Its true that we can make a house more efficient, but in this case we dont care about the house’s efficiency. We only care about how much energy we save by not being there to waste it. In a similar way, a good house, for example, will also save a lot of energy, but the house itself will never be as efficient.

So you can use a house as energy efficient as you want, but the house itself will never be as efficient as the house. The energy efficiency of the house is just an efficiency metric, and it is also an irrelevant metric.

The only thing that matters is that we dont have to buy that house. When you buy a house for the first time, you don’t even have to care that the house is running very well. If you want to buy a house for the first time, you have to buy the house to survive.
