The level of competition least beneficial to consumers is that it has no significant effect on the marketplace. This isn’t necessarily a good thing either. We all have to make compromises and have options when we choose to spend money on a product or service. We all have to make compromises and have options when we choose to spend money on a product or service.
Competitors are an important part of the marketplace. We may not want to compete with the competition, but we also don’t want to be the competition. We want to be the best.
In an ideal world, we would all compete with each other to be the best. We would all want to have the best products, services, and ideas. We would all want to be the best. But the reality is that we don’t actually expect or want to compete with each other. We simply want to compete with ourselves. We want to do what we want to do regardless of how others do it.
We want to succeed, and we want to be the best. But that is not the same thing as competing with other people on a level playing field. In fact, it is the exact opposite. We want to compete with ourselves. We want to do what we want to do regardless of how others might do it.
A few years ago we were competing with each other on a level playing field. We had the ability to choose to compete with ourselves, and we did. We had the ability to learn from others, and we did. We had the ability to improve our skills, and we did. But we were not competing with each other on a level playing field. We were competing with each other in our own ways. Now, in the age of the Internet, this is no longer true.
The Internet has made competition less about what others are doing and more about what you can do and see. The Internet has made it easier for anyone to compete with anyone else. We have lost the feeling of competition because it’s so easy and we’re so used to seeing the results of our own efforts.
I don’t think we should feel we lost anything from the Internet—we just got used to being told what to do from others. Competition has always been a part of our lives—it’s been around for as long as the human race has existed. Competition has always been an important part of our lives, and the Internet has made it easier, although not as easy, to get our competitive juices flowing.
Maybe when the competition is so easy to accomplish, there is a bit of a lack of competition, but I don’t think that’s necessarily true. We’re human, and it’s a natural part of our psychology. It doesn’t take away the fact that competition is an important part of why we use the Internet, but it does make it feel less desirable.
